Re: Rust "converter"

Best available in UK is Vactan. I've tested many on my XJS, nothing that I painted with Vactan than zinc primer and topcoat rusted again and my XJS sits outside all year. Everything else that I didn't paint that way, shows some rusty spots here and there, luckily most surfaces were painted in Vactan...

Re: XJ40 4.0 re-birth.

What sort of a paint is that Gary? :) Looks like chrome paint? Is it high temp paint? Not an easy job to fit exhaust to a 40, its really a two man job as its all heavy and not much space to maneuver the bloody thing  Was a partly exhaust day for me too. https://photos.app.goo.gl/y68npoPyMobjxq...

Re: Lurch and lumpy gear change on 3.2 xj40

That's not good then, was really hoping its that centre bearing. I suspect it could be something to do with the gearbox cable as when I got my car that lurch wasn't there at all but the gearbox cable was pretty badly set up and I just tightened it up when my reverse gear disappeared for couple of da...

Re: Rear suspension work

Yes, can highly recommend monobrace, it adds a lot of stability at the back, very happy with it. I've als just fitted rear ARB from an XKR this evening too so now pretty much have an LWB sport now  Had to swap one lower shock bush too, when I fitted the shocks right side had a tiny tear in the ...

Re: CPS

Never had a problem with an aftermarket ones, all my Jags running one. As usual, always have a spare one in the boot and you'll be fine.
