Re: Radiator fan relay module

Driving along today, sitting in traffic and noticed the engine temperature was going up and up. Upon closer inspection it seems the radiator fan isn't coming on at all, where previously it was running permanently. I have taken the relay out and it smells burnt. Going to have to replace it I think....

Re: Aircon clutch fuse blown

Still having trouble with the aircon. I noticed the air wasnt being cooled again. So checked the fuse, checked the relay and everything seems fine. When I take the relay out and just connect the terminals I can hear the compressor starts to run. Now I'm not super confident in the garage that did the...

Re: No time waster please?

guess the ‘time waster’ is the other side of the medal of all those ‘as new’, ‘near mint’ and ‘best in the country’ descriptions for neglected rust buckets? That's a good point too, what the seller might consider a "time waster" is perhaps someone who thought they were picking up a...

Re: No time waster please?

You're right, the "no time wasters please" note makes no difference at all, the time waster probably won't even read the ad. I can see that someone would add "relisted due to time waster" to explain there is a valid reason why the car has reappeared - in some cases people have ev...

Re: Leaper delete

Thanks for the advice guys. The XJS bonnet badge is probably a good short-term option - not really my favourite look either, but it gets rid of the leaper and leaves the option open to switch back at any point. In the long run I can keep an eye open for a non-leaper kingfisher bonnet - which may or ...

Leaper delete

My car had a leaper fitted when I bought it, I quite liked it at the time but kind of want to get rid of it now. Obviously there are two holes in the bonnet - has anyone removed a leaper, and how did you get on? Is it a DIY-able job (apart from the paint?) or is it easier/cheaper to swap the whole b...

Tell us a bit more about the cam cover refurb, looks a fantastic job! What kind of paint did you use - something heat resistant?

Re: Air filter dimensions

Let us know if there is any noticeable difference won’t you? I’ve always wondered if one would be worth the cost I fitted the filter on Saturday and had a two hour round-trip on Sunday to give it a try. I'd say there is a definite improvement in top-end performance, most noticeable with the sports ...

Thanks Don, but I decided to splash out on a K&N filter. When it arrived it just looked way smaller, but it exactly matches the measurements Norman has given. Hoping to fit it at the weekend (and notice a bit of an improvement!)
