Re: 92 Sov 3.2 - Starter Motor Replaced!

I’m having trouble understanding quite what the issue is, so my suggestion may be no good but it’s a free fix to try in the first instance... I’m with Larry, I doubt the engine is seized. The click of death can come from the gear inhibitor switch on the Jgate gear selector iirc. I had the issue earl...

Re: forum pictures Update

Stick with it Steve, I’m sure you’ll get there.

Your hard work is appreciated, and without you doing it the site would lose its value.

It’s a shame it seems to happen every year or two as the amount of work that creates for you is crazy.

Re: Pat on the back for me, from me.!!

I agree that Naki is one of the sites biggest assets, it would be a crying shame to see Naki go the same way as RJ. He has helped keep my car going and given excellent advice and help on a number of occasions. (As has Rob, even though he’s no longer here!) I’ve just posted separately in response to ...

Re: Me XJ40.com and the future

Hi John,

Great to hear from you and glad you’re well.

I hadn’t realised you had been away due to ill health, very sorry to hear that but glad you’re on the mend.

As always, I’m happy to help if I can.

Re: Not a jag, not even a car...

Well it’s been two years since I updated this... I still have the van and the engine rebuild is still going strong. We had to have a couple more bits of welding and paint done at the end of last season. All very minor and only because I’m trying to keep her in good shape rather than let her go to a ...

Re: Pat on the back for me, from me.!!

Congrats Don, on this but also on saving and improving your car. It’s a credit to you. I agree re the site dying. FB seems so much easier for most people. FB is not for me though (although the wife is on and she keeps an eye on the XJ40 bit and shows me the odd car for sale or bit of info she finds ...

Re: Error message (of sorts) on XJ40.com

I was just thinking how much the site had improved in the last few days.

I can now post without an endless time out and people have started posting pictures again.

The site isn’t what it used to be without all the pictures...

Re: Project

I don’t think there is anything wrong with a later addition that looks ‘of its time’ when it’s done right. I think a badly done addition that tries to match the original building but doesn’t succeed is far worse. I think the new porch on this build will pull the two together quite nicely (assuming t...

A shame I’ll not be able to make this, As you say, not much else going on, I’m surprised they’ve gone ahead with it tbh!

Re: Project

What sort of cladding are you going for Simon? It is the kitchen and bathroom. Not finished yet as waiting for cladding to be fitted. I bet it’s a fantastic place to live and with that extension on it will be big enough to live in too! As you’re in an old thatch, do have any issues with planning etc...
