Re: Elsa_My first Jag_1994 3.2s

Well nothing is obviously wrong in the rh fuse box, but as Naki suggests, every solder we can access will receive some treatment. I’m really hopeful that this solves my problem. September was the last time the car saw the road and she managed an hour of driving without playing up. She’s now run out ...

Re: XJ40's on Autotrader

And After the sale price on Bay of fleas for £800 that gave them £1700 profit in the listing price. Question could they have done all that work to good standards for say £1200 so they got £500 profit ????? It doesn’t look like they’ve done all of the work. I can’t see holes in the cills anymore, bu...

Re: Elsa_My first Jag_1994 3.2s

I’ve got a quiet afternoon so I thought I’d strip these fuse boxes down. I’ve started with the lh fuse box. I’ve found a suspect solder, the appearance is as per all the other solders except it has a ‘furry’ ring half way up the solder. https://xj40.rvdz.me/images/3866/3866___5ccd9fc0c1dbb.jpeg The ...

Re: Elsa_My first Jag_1994 3.2s

So I spent some time in the garage this morning. I’ve cleaned up the relays and connections, the wires on the relay base seem ok, they don’t look or feel suspect and no amount of moving them around has made any difference. Possibly a more scientific test method is needed here? Anyway, Still she does...

Re: XJ40 4.0 re-birth.

Nice update. Sorry to read that your health has hindered the project so much! I do look forward to seeing the car in the flesh one of the days! And, for what it’s worth, I really like those wheels and the gunmetal colour! They look smart, the car is an ‘80’s / 90’s car so the slightly retro look wor...

Re: The Reason I Love XJ40s

Mine started with a good friend of my father having S2 and S3 XJs whilst I was growing up. Long story made short, there was one S3 in particular that he owned, it was black with a red interior and I remember the smell of leather & petrol, all that beautiful woodwork inside and the magic carpet r...
