Cheers Rory.
Looking back above, I don’t know what astounded me more was the fact that there exists a baked bean jigsaw puzzle or the fact that Don had the time and the patience to actually complete it.

Re: Dead in Battle

You don’t see many of these mobiles on the roads any more, I suppose most people go to organised AA meetings nowadays instead of having a bunch of strangers listen to their drunken antics and vague confessions being described in lurid detail over a cuppa and a pork pie at some lay-by or other on the...

Re: Door mirror backing

The chrome part is affixed with two plastic pins on the outboard side and a hidden clip on the inboard side. The idea is to prize the chrome part from the mirror part on the outboard side, thus releasing the pins and then slide the inboard chrome part away outwards to release the clip. You can see f...

Re: The Dreaded Droop

I would just get those upholstery screw pins and pin it up temporarily - that's what I'm going to do if (when) mine collapses. I've seen it done and it looks very neat ...not stock/concourse of course, but at my mileage and being a daily, not a garage queen, who cares? As long as it ain't sitting o...

The Dreaded Droop

I suppose that I honestly thought that I was immune from it, that I would be spared the pain and suffering, that somehow I would not be prone to the shame of it, that I could avoid the sympathetic glances and the wicked looks of jealous squeaky clean VW owning neighbours, but no, after all these yea...

Re: XJ40 Register

Twenty years ago, maybe , today ..not a chance, sorry! Larry The same Excel spreadsheet could be used with some nifty use of pivots tables, this should be able to function quite well. Not up to Statistically Query Language based DB "SQL" but sufficient for our needs. And before anyone ask...

Re: XJ40 Matchbox Model Police Conversion

Strange, I can see them on my iPhone but not my desktop :? Steve, help ;) Have any one else’s pics gone  Don, I saw the photos perfectly yesterday. Things like this remind me of way back when I was repairing thermionic valve TVs part time in order to eat as a student. When taking a little ol...
