Re: 1994 Daimler Double Six

I have praised the electronics on these old lady's of ours on several occasions as being state of the art for their time, but they were, however, not built to MIL military specifications, I mean after all they are motor cars and not Chieftain tanks and as such have a purely commercially dictated lim...

Re: 1994 Daimler Double Six

Is it certain then that all soldering will fail sooner or later? Even if there is not any movement as such between the points soldered? In a controlled atmosphere with no vibration or stress then probably no, but we are talking car components here, temperature variations, stress and sometimes sever...

Re: 1994 Daimler Double Six

That’s good to know Richard. I haven’t had to do a security ECU yet on these. But it seems any of the electrics on these are liable to soldering issues then? Have you tried a new battery in the Fob? I find they can work much better with a new battery. Also check the contacts are clean. Yes, the sol...

I hasten to add that this was not taken by me in Spain, but by my daughter who is doing volunteer work in for an NGO animal welfare centre in Thailand. Amongst other things she is the centre’s unofficial photographer and she also makes the promotional videos that aid in the attempts to promote adopt...

Re: Aerial Cleaning

I have one of those, sends me messages like “clean the pool”, “take out the garbage”, “tidy the garage” and she does it all without an accompanying beep, just that horrifying, spine chilling, terrifying “look”. Yes I have one of these (ladies) too .... Although after only a relatively short time to...

Re: Aerial Cleaning

Hello, A funny thing happened to me this morning in my X300. Just after starting her up early in the morning - cold weather around 2 degrees C or so - I switched on the radio and heard a beeping sound I'd not heard before. I looked down at the radio face and was suprised to see the message "cl...
