Re: To flush or not to flush

Personally i wouldn't flush , just regular changes , scrapper has 167,000 miles on her and she gets changed twice a year , runs well on triple x 10w 40 doesn't smoke or leak , i tend to spoil my other car with magnatec but i've no doubt it's not necessary but it makes me feel better :)

Re: Touch up paint

Derek, thanks for that. Any recommendations on which 2K clear?? To be honest most of the 2k in cans are only good for small jobs and hopeless trying to do large panels but i've had much better results with this one , not the cheapest and once the knob on the bottom is pushed in to puncture the hard...

Re: Touch up paint

I get all my Westminster blue from this bloke , and i've pretty much painted my whole car over the last few years , it's pretty cheap for a can of base coat but don't waste your time with the lacquer as it won't last long on horizontal surfaces , best use a 2k lacquer , http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400...

Re: XJ40 4.0 re-birth.

A successful end to a huge project , there's not many of us that have restored a car so comprehensively , especially when it includes a full re paint , all that remains is to get the mot out of the way [ a formality i'm sure ] and come and show her off at one of our meet ups , not too late to join u...

Re: Jim Randle

Very sad , it was a great honor to have him attend our humble meet up at Dunkeld , he and his old colleagues attending really swelled our numbers that day , i was impressed he found the time and energy to come and make such a valuable contribution to the event ,

RIP Jim Randle .

Re: Gratitude!

The sensor is the one on top of the elbow , i'd try cleaning it and in particular the electrical connection to it , it wouldn't go amiss to clean the connectors to the maf too and see how you get on , you could check the resistance of the air temp sensor but in my experience they rarely go wrong and...

To be fair Naki they're all pretty much the same rules everywhere these days , no movement of cars if you're an exhibitor after the public has been let in , you do have to get up early though which might not suit some people ;)

Re: 92 Sov 3.2 - Starter Motor Replaced!

You must be feeling pretty chuffed , i know i would if i'd done one successfully , i think these days you just have to try and do these jobs yourself as not many garages want to do this kind of work , and if they would have think of the money you've saved :)
