Re: 1994 Daimler Double Six

My car is chassis 676860 - so that makes it a 1993.25MY car then. If the 1993.25MY cars were introduced in December 1992 - mine must have been manufactured in early 1993(ish). I wonder what happened to it for a year then? Perhaps I should get a heritage certificate - just to nail to build date down...

Re: eBay motor bin.

A nice 88 VDP. Perhaps overpriced. I hope it's a typo. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1988-Jaguar-XJ-Vanden-Plas/283328556296?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D26e2b444837b472a89a9b33317dcac14%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D283328556296%26itm%3D28...

Re: Trim Colour Code.

The front of the XJ40 service manual has similar charts and a breakdown of the color and trim codes like the ones for the XJS and X308, including the specific colors for things like headliner, carpet color, fascia, seat belts, etc. I have PDF copies saved if there's a way to upload a pdf here. Or pm...

Re: XJ40 in new TV ad!

Watching TV and caught a very quick glimpse of what appears to be a 40 in a new Tia Maria advert! https://xj40.rvdz.me/images/60688/60688___5bf32933a6169.jpg They must think all XJ40 owners are Tia Mari drinkers? What does that say about us? You would think we are more half a mild bitter please lan...

Re: 6.0 V12 engine number

My XJ12 has a build date of March 1993 and last 6 of the VIN begins 682xxx so yours may be a March or April build date. There is some info here on VIN and engine numbers but since your engine came from a Daimler it may not match up. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/attachments/general-tech-help-7/...

Re: NOS XJ12 fascia wood kit for sale

Only complete kit for sale? Or also particular parts available? Hello, this V12 fascia kit has been sold now. I do have a full nos wood kit for a LHD Vanden Plas model that I'll be listing once I can take some photos. It was purchased for a '93 but I believe it will fit 92-94. It's the version with...

Re: Rear shock assembly question.

Well, I was able to order the spacer from Jagbits. There was a complication though; the spacer is no longer available as a separate item. It comes spot welded to the upper shock mount. I didn't mind though, as I discovered that my upper shock mount has a semi circular hole worn in it from when the ...

Re: 1994 XJ40 4.0 From The US

Congrats on your acquisition. Silver is one of the best colors for an XJ40 imho. Or is that oyster color? .Either way, looks great. Those do look like deer whistles on the front bumper to me. Good luck with her.

Re: My Project 1994 XJ40 VDP

Congrats, looks pretty nice for a "project". Looks like same color combo as mine, black paint (PDH) and cream (NDR) interior?
