Re: Asymmetric steering/suspension

A worn spring that compresses easier by the weight of the car

My right side spring was broken. Check and replace. Both sides.

Re: Spring compressor

Just my 2 cents:
Don't even think about removing the spring without a proper spring compressor with strong center rod. The V12 spring is extreme. Long bolts alone will not suffice.
Bushes: The hose pipes have to be removed to be able to pull out the lower pivot bolt.

Re: Asymmetric steering/suspension

now it does not always pull to the right, sometimes it also pulls to the left  . So I guess I managed to make the steering a bit more neutral, but it is still too nervous. Mine does the same. On "crowned" roads, essentially most of them, mine always pulls to the low side of the slope...

Re: SLS Rebuild?

MY XJ81 already came with the SLS removed when I bought it. No entry in the papers, no special permit anywhere. Nobody at the MOT ever asked about it, nobody ever checked into the missing headlamp levelling. My impression is that few if none of the MOT people are aware of the issues, and even fewer ...

Re: What fluid is it (2)? Coolant!

153 mph, no wonder the radiator split At least I was successful with giving you something to mock about  I had a second radiator in my parts stock which I put in yesterday. Not a fun job on the V12, because of the extremely tight space when working the lower hydraulic connections for transmiss...

Thanks guys.

Embedding pics from google photos is a nightmare. I haven't done in in a while, it's different on different bulletin boards. I need to look it up each time.

What fluid is it (2)? Coolant!

Happiness with my XJ81 was short lived. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/WtsgqvLvkB_X-M8fh9H6589YCAtMnVDi_qxq8WBTlVAow5ritnP8ROJNg3wazNbwooC9JcLFRUIGBRlQKMi2fLUAu2G6SwNas8hOMXE9uhafleffJPbd-Cr_lDwaBPCT5SV4xhPguvM=w320-h240 There are no hose connections on the lower right side. I fear a crack on the...

There is no knock sensor on the AJ6. The AJ16 has them.

Re: Oil Cooler leaks v12

Paul, I was unsuccessful in my search at the workshop. What you are looking for is somethin like a fuel line disconnect tool, but with a large enough diameter and very thin "branches". https://www.google.com/search?q=fuel+line+disconnect+tool&tbm=isch&ved I do have the set of round...

Re: Oil Cooler leaks v12

Paul, I don't see any corrosion issues there. The connection does not have any screw joints on the XJ81, and it is leaking oil - so it is well lubricated. Replacing the o-rings which will have assumed a square cross sectional profile will fix your problem - it have done this before. However, unlocki...
