Re: One less XJ40

That accident was caused by the XJ40 ninjas who creep around unseen at night seeking out and eliminating cars with un-tasteful modifications. Those hub caps would have been enough for them to take action.

Re: Facebook groups vs this forum? Can of worms?

I quite like the forum just as it is! :o A smartphone very useful for a quick check of this and that on the web etc, but hardly a replacement for a real (desktop) computer. Just because you can't use an I-Phone to do everything a desktop does is no reason to dumb-down the desktop to it's level, and...

Re: Facebook groups vs this forum? Can of worms?

I agree that this forum is a good source of information for these cars and people can benefit from the knowledge shared by others on here. Certain members on here would help the lack of activity situation by being more considerate to others expressing alternative opinions, so they are retained. The ...

about 0:10 in, could only be a 40, can't make out the reg but has externally mounted fogs and fishtanks, more than likely a wet floor!

XJ40 in a promotional video not getting smashed up? That's unusual.

I also suspect that's the case. But shhhhhh, don't spoil the thought.

Re: XJ40 Arctic Bangernomics Rally

I love all his posts on YouTube and I must confess, I'm rather envious of his lifestyle. Seems a smashing chap and all that. I like Harry's Garage video of the UK to Monaco trip in his XJ-S. That's got to be the sort of use Jaguar had in mind when they designed that car and it looks at home on the ...

Re: XJ40 Arctic Bangernomics Rally

The best bit is when it involves a car that's not heavily priced , or specially prepared to a great length - I guess i'm showing that British trait of backing the underdog when I say that, but it shows great spirit and great fun can be had without too much outlay. Harry Metcalfe certainly is an adv...

Re: fuel supply hose ' damper ' ticking

I noticed these were also NLA from Jag.

I pre-emptively bought both correct hoses for my in case I get struck by the dreaded helicoptering noise. It's supposed to be quite noticeable inside affected cars.

No doubt I won't need them now!

So do I when I bury my foot into the floor and leave it there! It felt like it took slightly longer to get up to speed than other 3.2 cars I've tried, might be a bit down on power, but all ok considering.
