Re: 1994 Daimler Double Six

I have spoken to my insurance company again - and they have confirmed that they normally write classic cars off once the repair exceeds 60% of the cars value. I have heard some companies write them off once 40% is exceeded - so 60% is a result. They are also happy to base their decision on the quote...

Re: 1994 Daimler Double Six

I'm collecting some quotes now from local bodyshops. I'm keen for it to go somewhere where they know Jaguars - so we shall see. Like you say - it should hopefully just be a case of pulling the dent out. It will need paint, but there are plenty of swage lines around that part of the car. The rear bum...

Re: 1994 Daimler Double Six

My local A/C specialist did actually get the the system working last year when we were looking at recommissioning the car in Eastbourne. There was a particular hose leaking, some perished o-rings on the condenser and the expansion valve wasn't looking too healthy. So the system blew cold air, but di...

Next job - get the A/C working properly!

Gets quite hot in there on a sunny day with all that wood, leather and lambswool carpet!

Re: 1994 Daimler Double Six

Well it's been a busy few months for the Daimler. It's been off the road since Feb to have one or two things done to it and get her to where I want it to be. It was supposed to be just a suspension refresh - but as always, these things escalate. So the list of works completed this time, is as follow...

Re: New member - Kingfisher XJ81 in East Sussex

I just hope it managed to find a new owner who'll finish the restoration.

I was going to try and have a look when I get home from work.

Will keep an eye on the Simply Performance thread on Facebook.........

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F193006818896 And another local car. I’ve seen this one in the flesh whilst I was getting my Sovereign MoT’d. It did look reasonably nice, and I’ve not seen an N-reg 40 before. It was going to go for banger racing, but...

Re: eBay motor bin.

Yeah, it'd be a real shame to loose another one as parts. I do remember the original advert, and it did look crusty. The mot history is very patchy - it hasn't held one since 2011 and the one before that was 2006. Couldn't help notice "Brake master cylinder/servo mounting prescribed area is exc...
