Re: XJ81 Suspension Height

Managed to find some time to adjust the spacers in the car. It's sitting much better. Around 66cm at the rear and 65.5cm at the front from road to top of the wheel arch. In the end it was one large and one small either side in the front. Then both out on the N/S rear and one small out on the O/S rea...

Re: 1994 Daimler Double Six

Thanks for the words of encouragement guys. She's getting there one step at a time.

A little more suspension work first, then it's onto the rust...

Re: XJ81 Suspension Height

Just been out and measured on the XJR and XJ12. I have the reverse of your measurements on my cars. Both of mine being 65 cm to the wheel arch at the rear and 67 cm at the front give or take a few mm. That's on 16 inch wheels with 225/55 tyres. So it does sound like yours may be sitting high at the...

Re: Rear suspension work

Monobrace comes from an X308 and in bolts on where individual struts sit. You can find all the details here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-xj6-xjr6-x300-26/x308-rear-monostrut-retrofit-x300-143384/ Perfect - thanks very much for that. Looks like an excellent add on. Now added to the to-do l...

Re: Rear suspension work

Yes, can highly recommend monobrace, it adds a lot of stability at the back, very happy with it. I've als just fitted rear ARB from an XKR this evening too so now pretty much have an LWB sport now  Had to swap one lower shock bush too, when I fitted the shocks right side had a tiny tear in the...

XJ81 Suspension Height

Hi all, Thought I'd post and revisit the suspension on my DD6. Its still, in my opinion, low at the front and high at the rear. Its had brand-new springs, dampers, spacers and tyres over the past year - but is still not quite right. The spacers fitted were as follows: - 1.5mm top and bottom on the f...

Re: 1994 Daimler Double Six

The car has had a busy couple of weeks. My lack of A/C was indeed the condenser in the end. After a few enquiries - I settled on the Dutch option as has been previously described in other threads on the forum. Turns out is is made in the UK - so it's had a long journey to get here. Its certainly a n...

Re: New member - hopefully.

It was very much a one off I believe.

But at least they’ve made one now - so if anyone else needs one, hopefully they’ll be quicker and cheaper.

The Daimler will need a windscreen at some point - as it’s starting to go milky on the O/S A-pillar area.

Might go for a heated screen then.
