Re: S-Type 3.0 V6

Hi Carl, interesting read, i have looked at these on and off for a while with the intention of buying one to knock around in for my daily commute and other duties. The rust issues associated with this model are well documented and i am fully aware of this for the budget (i'm a cheap skate) that i wa...

Re: Plunge into XJ40 ownership! 87 3.6 Sov Solent blue

Erik, Very nice clean car, looks like it's been loved previous to your purchase, however as expected there will always be some little anoying niggles that need to be resolved and wish you good luck with fixing these. Look forward to reading your updates as you get the car to how you want it. Regards...

Re: Jaguars visit RR, revival weekend

Hi Naki,

I will enquire and find out what I can organise, normally if we get enough and you all come as a club and in your Jaguars of course :) we can park the cars in the courtyard.

Regards
Gary.

Re: XJ40 4.0 re-birth.

If you ever get to removing the rear a-frame here's a worst case scenario. Naki recently supplied me with a spare a-frame which must have came from a sunken 40 as it was very rusty and both bolts next to the bush were proper seized solid and completely rusted. On one side even the large spacer was ...

Re: First ride in a Cullinan

For me the Phantom that we first built was a fantastic car, big, brash and in your face and unashamably a Rolls. Gary. Me too. The Phantom has huge presence, and still looks brilliant/ every bit what a Tolls should be. Another car I would happily own if the chance ever presented itself (ie lottery ...

Re: First ride in a Cullinan

Forgot I posted this up. Some interesting takes on the name :? Sadly the comment about the veneer (wood) is that the days of highly polished walnut burr and Birdseye maple are considered old hat and the current fashion is open pore wood finishes as in this particular vehicle. However, whatever venee...

Re: Rust is our enemy and we shall defeat it

I'm currently experimenting with rust removal on my old calipers. As you probably all know, Deox-C works amazing when it comes to rust but not the cheapest stuff around. I normally also use citric acid as it is cheap, super safe, and works very well but also someone recommended me oxalic acid(you c...

Re: XJ40 4.0 re-birth.

Very professional looking boot infill panels there, Gary. We expect no less from you :) . But how did you make the little clips that hold them in place... weld them onto the metal surrounding the holes? Hi Aidan, Thank you, the clips are automotive cable run clips that are a sort of a flat S shape ...
