Roel and I use the same Classic car storage facility.

There is a rather photogenic field that they use when moving the cars in/out of the barn(s)

There is a always something interesting there every time I go.

Had to take some pictures for the agreed value insurance. Quite happy with the way the old girl is shaping up :D https://xj40.rvdz.me/images/60921/60921___5cdc62de5c9e1.jpg https://xj40.rvdz.me/images/60921/60921___5cdc630132b15.jpg https://xj40.rvdz.me/images/60921/60921___5cdc631e262f6.jpg

Re: Daimler Double Six - 1993 - J6DXJ

Well for my sins, the Daimler has been in storage since January. I got distracted by another, project an old Toyota Land Cruiser http://forum.retro-rides.org/thread/208932/1979-toyota-landcruiser-rusty-mcrustface But it was good to get back into the swing of things with the Daimler, and I managed to...

Re: Daimler Double Six - 1993 - J6DXJ

I'm not sure the mounts on my rack have failed, the MOT said inner joints.

The only inner-joints I can find seem to be made by Frontline but as Borg and Beck also re-badge them, so they can't be that bad.

Re: Daimler Double Six - 1993 - J6DXJ

Took the Daimler our for the weekend. Just to keep it moving and fresh over the winter. A pleasure as always to just waft around. I still haven't got around to getting the AC bits fitted, or that pesky headlamp washer cover. But I did replace the rear foglamp as I'd pulled the wires out of the origi...

Re: Daimler Double Six - 1993 - J6DXJ

I was wondering how you were getting on with this. The next improvement. Those brackets were available until recently. I think it’s worth emailing JCP. They would likely make them again with enough demand. X300 or X308 wiper arm? The 308 versions have the built in washer jet hose. The 300 versions ...

Re: Daimler Double Six - 1993 - J6DXJ

Been a while since I've done an update. I've done a few hundred trouble free miles, but the car has spent a while in storage. A quick modification was an X308 wiperarm - the small crank make it sit so much better. If you've got an XJ40 and haven't done this, it makes quite a difference. The rear bum...

That underside is gorgeous

I'd love to grab your exhaust as a spare for my DD6 - but I'm literally at the other end of the country.

Great save on the seats.

Shame about the fishtanks - I'm rather fond of mine, and not looking forward to removing them in one piece.

If your missus has a modern plastic sewing machine - like others have said - might be too much for it

If it happens to be an old school Singer, like I've permanently borrowed off of my Mum - you'll be fine
