Re: The resurrection? (it will be slow)

A bit of progress..... Katar83, I totally get where you are coming from, it really does look like it may not be worth saving, however I will be doing all of the work myself thus negating the majority of the labour cost. As you suggest, time will be the other major enemy, it will not be a quick fix. ...

Re: The resurrection? (it will be slow)

Thanks naki_k, there will definitely be a list. Starter is away having an overhaul, hopefully back early next week. A more insightful look over the car has now taken place :?. Decision is that if it runs well when I get the engine bits back together then I'm pretty sure the project is on! Floors are...

Re: New member - Kingfisher XJ81 in East Sussex

I've been around Heathfield and the surrounding villages for over 20 years so my old 40's were a common sight here, hopefully this one will also grace the roads again in the future. Your car looks great Dazstap, love the colour (and the wheels!). Thanks for the info naki_k, I'm sure I will be in con...

Re: New member - Kingfisher XJ81 in East Sussex

Many thanks again for the help, support and advise everyone.

I have now started another thread to hopefully follow the resurrection of the XJ12....... It will be a slow process!

All the best

The resurrection? (it will be slow)

Right, having introduced myself and my latest acquisition, I shall start this fresh thread hopefully to vaguely catalogue the trials and tribulations of firstly getting it running again and secondly deciding what to do with the copious amounts of rust..... Here goes.... The car is a non-runner, it's...

Re: New member - Kingfisher XJ81 in East Sussex

Don't say I didn't warn you!!! :D :D To be honest I will have to have a really good look to see that it is worth saving, I hope it is. The initial plan is to get it running again, so at least it is able to move under its own steam. I'll then give the body a good inspection to see how deep the hearta...

Re: New member - Kingfisher XJ81 in East Sussex

Here are a couple of the '94 XJ12, probably around 2010/2011. Was looked after by the factory when new, then TWR history after that. Had around 90k miles when I sold it. https://xj40.rvdz.me/images/60994/60994___5b354a82a5afe.JPG https://xj40.rvdz.me/images/60994/60994___5b354a9c56137.JPG https://xj...

Re: New member - Kingfisher XJ81 in East Sussex

A few pics of my '93 4.0, sold it around 2008-ish, would love to find it again but the DVLA vehicle lookup doesn't look too promising... https://xj40.rvdz.me/images/60994/60994___5b35488cdb8ab.jpg https://xj40.rvdz.me/images/60994/60994___5b3548c32239d.jpg https://xj40.rvdz.me/images/60994/60994___5...

Re: New member - Kingfisher XJ81 in East Sussex

Many thanks for the warm welcome and support! I have a few, fairly poor pictures taken this evening after work (car is wedged into my workshop). I will attempt to upload them later on. It is indeed the car in the trailer, F11 BAY, the other Scottish project looks like it may be even worse! I shall b...
