Re: XJ40 4.0 1994 "Joker"

Gone for me too. A shame as I didn't get to see the photos yet! Welcome to the group. I've also got a 3.0 S Type and a 4.0 XJ40, so I know exactly what you mean about the differences between the two and I feel the same way. They go very nicely together though, similar sort of power between the two b...

Me too, Castrol GTX Ultraclean 10W40. It’s a bit cheaper than Magnatec, which is what I use in my S Type but would probably be a bit overkill in the 40 as I change the oil every 6 months (about 1000 miles).

Re: Jaguar Breakfast Club meet

I was there too, sorry I didn’t bump into you, although it was so busy I probably didn’t notice several people I know! Jim Randle’s XJ40 was the star of the morning for me. I also loved the pair of X350 Daimler Super V8s right at the front, and getting to see a Royal Daimler DS420 being restored ins...

Re: Autonomous XJ40

It’s taking more than 5 years from 1994 to implement that on all cars! Also interesting to note that the steering wheel has very similar controls to the S Type (and I think X308) despite being much earlier. Shows how early Jaguar probably started developing those cars. Lucas electronics for autopilo...

Thanks to Roel and all involved in managing this forum, particular thanks for getting the photos back! It’ll make repair posts etc much easier to follow.

Mine never used to smoke on startup, does now a little if it’s been left a week or so. She must be growing up and learning bad habits

I remembered a post about this car on Piston Heads last year:
