Re: 94 Sovereign 4.0 Auto

It is at the front though of the J-Gate assembly rather than directly underneath it - You don't take the top plate off the J-Gate assembly to get to it, if you see what I mean. I'm not expressing myself well here! http://www.jag-lovers.org/snaps/snap_view.php3?zx=SdADyRIIiM%2F6D8gNAZuezwLJCgOM2Ps41E...

Re: 94 Sovereign 4.0 Auto

IIRC you don't remove the 'plate' bit on the J-Gate (at least not on my '93) - the bulb is not under it but is sited at the front of the J Gate deep down in its own little trough. You do need to remove the ski slope. Replaceing the bulb is quite fiddly. I probably have some photos on my computer som...

Re: 1994 Daimler Double Six

That's very unlucky indeed. The rear bumper distortion may be solved by dismantling it and hammering it straight. Many years ago car used to have a distorted rear bumper which sat higher on one side than the other. It annoyed me since it made the car look like it was down on its springs on one side....

That's a lovely looking Jag - you can never beat the original paint. I like the blue lights too!

Re: My 1993 XJ40

The XJ40 looks great in white. Long ago I didn't think they did, but I have since changed my mind.

Re: Got me another one ...

It looks to be in very good condition in the pictures. It is the same colour as my car, the '40 suits Diamond blue. What's the rare feature the car has? - I admit I can't spot it! Nice car though. I was in the process of replying to your comment on my Register thread until you deleted it. It’s the ...

Re: Which rear suspension is best?

I've read that the X300 set up is better in a variety of places, both on forums and in articles. Not Facebook, haven't found the XJ40 group on there yet. Can't remember exactly where, but definitely on this forum on occasion. Not as part of a debate, more in passing, as a piece of received wisdom. ...

Re: Just got an email from Jaguar...

I don't particularly like the look of it - I don' think it harmonises with the dash well at all and the centre console instrument panel is ugly enough as it is! I find the interior of the XJ40 frustrating in places. Typical Jaguar really. Some parts are genuinely lovely: the dash overall, particular...

Re: 3 years later and I'm still fixing accident damage...

I was really lucky with my air conditioning. I replaced the condenser and all the seals a matter of weeks after Larry did his and thankfully it is still working well. (Famous last words...)
