Re: Also bitten by the XJ-S bug...

I know you said you had to modify something to fit the RHD pedal box? Good memory! Yes, we did: the brake pedal arm from the RHD box was removed, and replaced by the LHD item from the car, with the actual pedal trimmed down to match the dimensions of the manual pedal. The clutch pedal arm was also ...

Re: Also bitten by the XJ-S bug...

Must be perspective in that particular picture, Naki.
There’s sufficient clearance between accelerator pedal and center console as well as between said pedal and brake, even for my size 10s.

Re: Also bitten by the XJ-S bug...

But why this depressing Jaguar grey? Surely this could be nice red/blue or any other amazing colour... Understated subtlety... A highly pragmatic reason: all carpets are as good as mint, it was just that the driver's side was missing altogether. Smoke Grey (or should that be 'Shmoke Grey' in the Lo...

Re: L275 WOR - Jaguar XJR 4.0 Auto

Could be as innocent as a worn O-ring?

Challenge will be to clean the green goo first, then run the car stationary to get closer to the leak source...

Re: Leaper delete

Or building on Larry's suggestion of camouflaging the holes: you could dive into the XJ-S parts bin and replace the leaper with the circular Growler bonnet badge? That wouldn't be more than a few tenners (new, far less for used item), compared to the $$$$$$$ of a bonnet respray... https://live.stati...

What brand/supplier did you use?

And yes, I know: I still owe you a couple of XJ-S soundbites... ;-)

Re: Leaper delete

Mine was removed from the Sovereign, but that was kind of cheating: it had suffered minor nose damage, requiring a bonnet respray anyway.
They welded up the holes, sanded & primered the welds before respraying and the bonnet looked as if the leaper had never been there...

Re: Also bitten by the XJ-S bug...

A few more weeks and their parcel with my new and old carpets should be on my doorstep. Same old, same old... The Aldridge parcel obviously arrived when I was out, although I don't regret my weekend excursion to the Midlands in the least. ;) The craftspeople at Aldridge have done a stellar job: fro...
