Re: Late '93 Sovereign in NL: the restor(e)(y)

Finally: it took a 5-tonne hydraulic jack, a crowbar, a few mallets in various shapes and sizes and several of yours truly's calories... The subframe and wishbone arms are back where they belong!!

Thanks for enlightening me, Derek!

Jim Carrey on an empty stomach is not an easy one...

Unfortunately a bit too much in the diary for this weekend, not much progress to report!

Do you make it yourself?

Re: Late '93 Sovereign in NL: the restor(e)(y)

He has posted some excellent “how tos” on here. I'm working my way through 'm, the size of some of those topics is encyclopedic! More progress today: springs ready to go back in (a fellow Jaguar Forum NL member will assist with his spring compressor tool!), wheel wells rust-proofed and waxoyled in ...

Re: Late '93 Sovereign in NL: the restor(e)(y)

And another question... I'm getting close to the point where I need to start welding (either your humble narrator himself, or an overpaid pro) those classical rust areas. I'm not too worried about the wheel wells and the last bits of floor replacement, I would even dare to take that on myself. It's ...

Re: Late '93 Sovereign in NL: the restor(e)(y)

I'm relieved you're going to use the official spring compressor when you reassemble!! That was an easy choice, David... Getting them out using [ahem] non-approved tools is one thing, re-assembly is virtually impossible without that spring compressor! Your car is quite a rarity! Thanks for that! I'v...

Blimey! I paid EUR 299 (GBP 260) inc VAT, the 480 quid C J Autos charges seems a bit steep....
Pretty sure you can ship them over to that island of yours for less than 220 pounds :?

Or is the blue paint that more expensive? ;)

I've got two of the thick ones that I won't be using anyway...

Send me a message with your address details, and they're yours for the cost of shipping (which is substantially cheaper from NL to UK than the other way round).

Re: Suspension rebuild: do I need these parts?

I put them back in during the reassembling of the restored subframe. Keep up the good work! Thanks, Axel! I have four of the thicker ones, I'll try and get the thinner ones thru SNG's NL outlet then... Should be near-sacrilege not to use them, with every suspension bolt, washer and spacer either cl...
