IACV or Idle Air Control Valve

Postby sjw » Sun Mar 11, 2018 9:13 pm

I suspect I may have a problem with the IACV at tick over, but in all fairness I have yet to investigate. The reason for this article is that on reading other posts, as you do, apparently the IACV is the same as fitted to the Renault Megane D95174. Has any one fitted one of these units as there is a vast difference in price on Ebay, Renault from £7.00 plus, Jaguar £62.00 plus, and they do look the same.

They are the same, I fitted one from a Megane ...but ...before replacing yours I would try cleaning it and it's housing.

Not always the case, but many of these are replaced unnecessarily as the cone or the orifice are just carboned up.

That's great to know as my idle speed is too high. Thanks for the part number ;)

Have a good look around for a vacuum leak, that'll pop your idle speed up ...the small vacuum hoses get loose over time, make sure they fit nice and tight.
