And purchased from Car & Classic apparently!!!!

Chap on FB has announced that he has bought it....knows that it is "well known" and has vowed to look after it.

Maybe he might pop in here and keep us updated?

That's good news then, if it's in the hands of an enthusiast finally. Hopefully it will get the care and attention it needs.

Another Insignia for sale, this time in Spain. With very nice looking RR-style wheels... Quite high mileage though...

I remember posting this car up a couple of years ago and I see it's now been repainted in a fresh mica colour; looks a lot better than the previous primrose yellow, I think it looks great! :)

Hi there, this Primrose Daimler Insignia has been mine for 2 or 3 years in France before than a stupid "crook" tried to buy it from Eurojag. Rob told me he is in jail now...
This picture is taken by me in 2015 on one of my yards in Fontainebleau. It is still in primrose yellow. The interior was very great, the body very rusty...

Just found this one in Germany:

Were there ever fully chromed 5 spoke alloys? I believe I had those on my 4.0 sport without the bling bling.

Yes, have seen 'm a few times, mainly on US XJ40s and XJSes.

The same old story again with this advert: a 20+K 'collector's car' and pictures taken with what looks like a half-megapixel phone?
No engine bay/boot pics, etc. :(

Rant over, now for the nitpicking: the TWR(?) bodykit imho looks good on that paint colour, but is not mentioned in the advert? Interior seems standard Jag, ie not Insignia? And I know that the short-lived Insignia programme was all about 'order the specs you want, regardless of how outrageous they are', but those dark green carpets look way out of place, no match (or contrast, for that matter) with upholstery/veneer/paint colour? And WTH are those stickers on the wings?

A strange one this...

I think the green carpets are just aftermarket over-mats so can be binned very easily.
It doesnt look to have a leather-topped dash either. Maybe just the colour is Insignia based.
One for Mr Jenner to pronounce upon methinks.

Not one I would venture to take an interest in myself - even if it was an Insignia - it just has the air of being a 'bitsa' to me.
And the price is rather eye-watering!! I guess this is standard for Euro-based XJ40's these days. If so, then it would be very unlikely that an interesting car in mainland Europe could ever find it's way back in to the UK - or is the price reflective of the fact that it is LHD and these are difficult to come by?

Interesting........

Completely standard grey interior. Dash doesn’t look leather, or it would have stitching on the edges.
The bodykit looks more like an Arden type affair. It’s certainly not a factory bodykit.
The paint could be an Insignia colour, but hard to tell exactly what white it is? And no wing badges too.
I suspect it’s not a genuine Insignia.

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum and have spent some time catching up on this entire thread, as well as the 'Majestic Register' thread. Must say I feel a slight Insignia obsession coming on...

I realise it's been quite a few years since "the list" was last mentioned but if anyone is still managing the Insignia Register I have something potentially interesting to share.

A 1994 Jaguar 4.0 Majestic (!) currently for sale in Stockholm, unmistakably with an Insignia interior:

https://www.blocket.se/stockholm/Jaguar_XJ_4_0_Majestic___unik_samlarbil_79540160.htm?ca=23_8&w=3

That would make it one of two LHD Sov Majestic Insignias, according to

the correct number of Majestic Insignias is 63 in total

the breakdown is thus

RHD HOME 6 cars, 1 x Daimler 4.0. 1 x XJ12, 4 x 4.0 Sov

LHD EXPORT, 22 cars, 4 x Daimler 4.0, 15 x DD6, 1 x XJ12, 2 x 4.0 Sov

RHD EXPORT 35 cars, all DD6's

I haven't been in contact with the seller, but a certain amount of information is publicly available, including VIN:

https://biluppgifter.se/fordon/PMC341

This not only confirms that the car was sold new in Sweden, also it certainly seems to be the second aberrant body number mentioned here along with the Uri Geller one:

https://www.xj40.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1595&start=60

Maybe all this is old news, but considering the car hasn't changed hands for about 19 years it might have gone unnoticed. Certainly got me excited :D

Thank you Carsie!

I can think of worse hobbies :)

I gather you've spotted quite a few of the FVC's, I'm sure he'll be delighted you found another one  That is very impressive work on the XJ40 Register. Was combing through the Facebook page the other day (catching up) and stumbled upon the Saturn Orange Insignia pictures from Wroxall Abbey. It looks terrific! I hope the Primrose Pearl 3.2S will resurface in as fine condition one day...

Regards
