I have recently bought an XJ81 as a potential engine donor for a project, on collectimg the car and driving it back there is no way i could bring myself to break it, therefore i wondered if theres anyone with a tatty, rusty, damaged car that they was tginking of restoring that would rather P/X it with me and potentially save a lot of money on restoration work.

The car in question is a 94 L plate, XJ12 in metalic red, beige leather with red piping, very good comdition, non sunroof model, goid bodywork, 154k with lots of bills etc, mot’d till jan 2020, it drives great.

Onviously as im not breaking this car i still need a donor car so will not just sell this car, i must have a donor before i would let this go.

Sure one of the others will be along soon enough, I remember Rob Jenner advertising an xj12 last year that was pretty far gone I think there was something significant about it that's why he had not yet broke it up. Not sure how that ended up, I wonder how often he's on here these days.

That was MYE, a Westminster Blue XJ12 Majestic he was leaving complete-ish for someone to save as it was extremely rare. No one did, so was sold to someone in March who wanted it for its V12 engine

That's the very one Paul yes, such a shame I wonder if it is lost forever or lurking in a yard somewhere? Often think my efforts could have been spent saving a rarer car, always next time I suppose.

A good question, it might reappear engineless, but the car was in shocking shape, it would have cost a fortune to restore, and I think you made a very good choice with your Gold.
