'My other car is a ____'
sticker reads '95 Suzuki Baleno sedan auto.
Sport mode on the gearbox - stainless window trim, remote boot release...
Non - Japanese cars are banned in my household (even though XJ40s outnumber them). It's 90's Toyota and Suzuki here. I never owned / drove a British car I liked (apart from a fragile Land Rover) [or that didn't break all the time].
You can accuse the Japs of making bland cars but they are competently designed, anonymous and thrive on neglect / abuse.
...so I obviously meant to acquire an LS400 - but never did, since IMO the true rival to the XJ40 is / was the (even more ahead of it's time) gracious, spacious Citroen CX. The only thing it lacked really was the pacious.
I would step over many LS400s for a viable CX.You can accuse the Germans of making bland cars too - also cramped, unreliable and frequently (but not always) driven by 'look at me' w*nkers.
