Well, first cut out rust, and replace it with solid steel.
Next thing is just using good paints/epoxy/filler etc and then just upkeeping of the bodywork.
The car had been standing outside for 10 years when I bought it, so nobody saw the rust starting. I am looking at it weekly, so I will notice when a bad spot occurs. At least, that is the strategy
since I now have a job, income and all, I decided to, finally, buy a modern daily driver. Picked it up yesterday. Of course it needs work. The alternator doesn't work. Already bought a replacement unit. I specifically wanted an Alfa Romeo as they are well known for their reliability and build quility!
only 138.000 km. (86.000 miles that is)!
