I will have to take a look at my Cruise Control today, took Sovereign out last night and "no lights" on the console. The CC works perfectly, only I have no lights at all. Could this be somethingas simple as a fuse, I should be so lucky.

Norman, there is a small switch on the vertical face of the VCM, just push it in, which will turn the VCM and C/C lights on, on my 3.2 and the J reg Daimler they are on a timer as well, can't remember on later cars if this is the case
if it ain't sideways, it ain't serious

Cheers Rob, but the problem was due, like 99.9 % of my so called “repairs”, to operator ineptitude.
There I was, sat in the garage; doors closed, overhead lights off, side lights and headlights on and experimented with the CC, finally I switched on the ignition and the lights on the panel including the cruise control came on. All is functioning perfectly now, I can relax again. ;)

cruise tested and working today. to someone still getting used to the idea of using it, its worth noting that it doesn't engage until its over about 25mph, as the first time i tried, it wouldn't work at 20mph (for the purpose of a quick test in London!)
still am pleased, it was worth the effort. :)

I love cruise, especially the "resume". It seems to accelerate back to the set speed a lot smoother than my boot does. Also, when the cruise is set then I am am free to tap my foot to the beat of, probably Chris Rea or Phil Collins. Meatloaf (Bat out of Hell) is only for cleaning and polishing in the garage.
