Windshield wiper relay

Postby Ramses100 » Fri Aug 10, 2018 1:20 pm

Hi guys,

Quick (and easy) question. Windshield wiper will run on constant slow speed, but won't run on constant fast speed. Switching the speeds does make the appropriate relay 'click' and the wiper makes one fast wipe. Relay however then clicks back and wiper stops altogether.

Wanna inspect the relay pack, but not sure how to remove it. Pull forward towards radiator grill and then lift up?

Regards,

Ramses

They're clicked into place: move up, then forward.

Two potential causes for your wiper behaviour: first is the wiper speed relay you mentioned, second is the so-called body control unit (underneath passenger dash iirc). The latter unit governs a lot of the car electronics' logic, including a speed signal for the wiper.
