Winter protection

Postby rvdz » Wed Jan 23, 2019 3:41 pm

For the last couple of years I have taken my car off the road between November and April to avoid salty road surfaces etc. but I noticed that quite a few people on here keep driving their cars over the winter months - so what do you do for winter protection? I know there are waxes etc. out there -any recommendations?

Cavity wax and waxoil/tectyl/similar on the underside of the car and the inside of the panels.
I also used to wash it far more often than in summer, just to get the salt off.

Asda floor wipes, nice and wet and scented. There are lots of dry wash polishes and sprays on the market though. Just cannot see the point of throwing gallons of water all over your car when you put it in the garage to keep it dry :?

For a car kept outside on the street, regular underbody hi-pressure spray to get rid of road salt residue.

Luckily, our 'touchless' car was booths have that facility.
