new bumper chrome fitted

Postby Brake buster » Thu Feb 07, 2019 5:26 pm

my original ( when bought ) rear bumper blade was bent, so i got a replacement, but it was only 80% with a finger nail sized blister in the chrome , i was fortunate enough to find a NOS chrome blade a few months back , so today i removed my rear bumper and swapped over the main rear bumper blade , and also adjusted the two side chromes to negate the gap where the three items meet up at the corners, so down to about 1.5mm gap now, much better than the 8mm gap i did have on the one side , i did find that the side blades have slotted mounts for just this type of adjustment, so undo the four nuts//bolts and slide to position and tighten up , easy as that , i had previously replaced the crusty bent steel bumper frame with the aluminium version , which is a straight swap ,

i also took the opportunity to fit the NOS rear fog light/reflex unit as well ,

a little metal polish to clean it all up and thats another job completed

I would hope you painted underside of this new chrome blade, otherwise I expect it to rust within 12 to 18 months? ;)
