I am now leaning towards the impractical, in the earnest belief that once re-upholstered, my Allegro will become a Fanny Magnet

This is entirely down to you Ivor :D

Cheers,

My two trim codes are AEM and AJ so I reckon it's the second code AJ.

I have AEE and CJ, whatever that is. Rat shit after all?

Just make sure you fit the right colour, Jimbo!
Champagne sounds so much better - I’m getting nowhere with my world of greyness!

Not exactly the same, but I remember a pink XJ40 being sold on Ebay by a lap dancing bar in Doncaster, I think. Anyone else remember it?

It was really very pink.

The AEE means doeskin – I don’t know what the second set of letters means, but it’s not the carpet.

AEM is magnolia of course – as far as I know, magnolia always comes with Champagne carpets – Champagne/Magnolia binding is ~NSB; Champagne/barley binding is ~MSB. Incidentally, front carpets for both sides are still available in some versions of Champagne – and at £5+Vat are a real bargain.

Rattan/doeskin binding is ~PAF.
