Just found this thread as I am in the process of steeling myself up to sending the Daimler down to Keith next Easter.

I know this thread started back in 2015 and it is now 2017........are you at liberty to say why it took so long to get the car to paint stage? I am interested as, if this is normal, then I am going to have to resign myself to being without my pride and joy for a while

CT 8-)

Edit - EEeeek!!! Just realised.......your car first visited XJ back in 2011........Has it been there all this time???????

A lot of last minute set backs for this.
Steve has had quite a few new parts at the last hurdle to get the car out the door!
Must be very close now though.
Slave cylinder is the current hurdle....

Any more updates Steve?

My slave cylinder leaks slightly but has been behaving well and seems to be holding out. I check the reservoir is always topped up and no problem for now. It needs a little fluid a couple of times a year maybe. I keep it a few mm over the mark. I will eventually need a repair kit or a new one.
Who else has a manual XjR on the forum? Maybe we'll see "Black Cherry" and "Westminster" together soon. Remember I got that picture of my "Regency" with the "Silver" XjR manual
I join you Naki in asking for the update. Nice car Steve :D :D

We will certainly meet up when Steve gets the car home (after 6 years away! :o ).
If we can get Tony’s Ex car out for the first time ever too, that will be a real result! Though I suspect we will have to travel up to the museum to fish it out first!
