Not a Halloween trick then?

Still looking a bit one eyed? Have you got a OS headlamp to go in?

It is excellent to see an update of this! You started your car's restoration before mine - it takes an incredible stamina to follow such a long process through. Mine was a much smaller undertaking entirely, but it felt big enough at the time!

It's looking superb though. I love the colour of your XJR - Westminster really suits the aggressive XJR body kit. It is an important car to save, there are so few of them. What is it, three left?

My own car also 'rewarded' my efforts by the rear exhaust dropping off, just the other side for mine! Did yours start and run OK after its long rest? - I found mine to be very tolerant of non-use, shrugging it off after waking it up.

I am sorry to hear about your business.

David.

Well, its back and parked up. Driven off the transporter and onto the drive. Tricky with no seats!!! Pics to follow.

It looks amazing, the colour is brilliant but the amount of work still ahead of me to get it fully roadworthy and good seems massive!
First things that come to hand, door handles needing bloody big tug to open.
Both electric windows on drivers side refuse to work although all central locking and both mirrors are fine.

At that point I locked it, walked away and went back to work! :D

So the list will start tonight and Naki will be getting a shopping list in the morning. Hopefully by the weekend I should have a list off all jobs needing doing and I can get on with reinstalling the interior.

And now the fun begins!!!

Now it’s back after six years restoration, the real work begins? I thought it was MOT ready?

I have driven an auto with no seats, but a manual would be much harder.

Btw, it would be good to summarise all the work done to get to this stage, for the benefit of everyone not familiar with the car, and the epic adventure to get it this far.

Which new slave cylinder did you go for in the end?

Door handles- door cards off and lubricate all the latch mechanisms.

Both windows on one side failing- classic fuse box dry solder joints. Fuse boxes out and start soldering.

Update. After a long time of leaving the car I am now on it in earnest. The list of items work to be done hasn't gone down much and the car is definitely not MOT ready but after some issues with starting it is now running.

So today I have mostly gone backwards!
Trying to sort the lights out. All exterior lights working other than drivers side headlight.
So removed BFM and DB10005 relay pack, cleaned up casings and connectors, put back together and now drivers side sidelight and indicator also not working.
BFM knackered I thought.
Swapped them over and it works perfectly on passenger side!!
Gave up and put tools away.

Anyone got any ideas??
