Stick it back down with heat resistant glue?

That may be part of the solution, but feeling how much force is required to move the leather covered area down, the leather will definitely need some work.

Can the whole thing be removed?

My thought being, remove it, reshape it, then stick it back in with adhesive when less force is required to hold it down.

Yes, I think this is the way that these leather dash/ parcel shelf’s are heading.

The Parcel shelf will come out of course, and the Centre section can come away from the base.
Where is leather dash master Gary when he’s needed?

I spent a bit of time refitting the carpets with all the correct fixings etc, noting a few more missing small fixings.
Also the seat fronts with the wrong screws. They should of course be chromes with a small washer.
There’s an incredible array of different fixings used across 40s. Invariably many of them go missing over time. All these small details add up though.
I wonder how many people would spot this? :?

Re the curling parcel shelf - how about using heavy duty press-studs.

I dont like the idea of glue as it will soften in the sun/heat........and the press-studs will allow easy removal in the future should it be needed.

Just a thought.......

There should be a stud/ clip under the corner, but it’s missing. So I will replace that for sure. But, The leather is so tight though, it won’t simply push down. It’s shrunk quite a bit I think. I am 100% certain something needs to happen to the leather in order the do a proper job here.

Ah..........

Now I am not au fait with the make up of these shelves......... Is the leather bonded directly to the carrier board or is it, like the headlining, sandwiching a foam filler?

If it is directly bonded, would it not be possible to carefully peel it off the backing by lifting the leather from the front edge, thereby releasing the stress and then re-bonding it? I notice that the front edge is tucked under the top of the rear seats so any marks or creases from re-positioning the leather could be hidden. This wont work if you peel it of from the rear edge because of the piping.
