Might help tide you over until you can get hold of another and will stop any residual powder dropping in your hair!?

I got rid of my XJR liner only removing the sunvisor clips - it just tugged out from behind the rails and seals etc. i cleaned it up so it now looks like Paul's. You never notice it really - but my plan is to roller paint it. Less messy / smelly and I'll get a bit of texture. No way am I removing it.

abercanadian wrote:Seems like that would be the easiest solution; releasing the board partially (say one side) reattaching the fabric with say spray adhesive (like the stuff you use to attach artwork to a mount maybe) and continuing over the whole thing??

I think that could work? You could also put new foam or another type of cushioning in if you got adventurous!!

Sure worth a try IMHO

Pulling out the windscreen etc seems like more than a job for a do-it-yourselfer like yours truly

Cheers

Larry

I would be worried about tidyness, I think the way to guarantee an even spread with no creases is to remove the whole board, dress it and then refit. I've had it confirmed that you don't need to remove the screens, especially on the Majestic with its bigger rear doors, so will go that way firstly.

Just make sure if you have a go, you use high temperature adhesive, or it'll all just fail again when the weather gets warm!

Mine in the dub looks great, I'll get some photos when I'm next with it.

Yeah, let's see some pics, I''m intrigued. As I've just mentioned to Larry, I would be very worried of creases and mess if it was left in place. Although more fidgety and time consuming, full removal of the board and reinstalling would guarantee an even and flat spread.

old del boy wrote:Beautiful car you have there Paul , be sure to get the base board recovered , maybe in Alcantara or leather for a special look , as they obviously won't be available and if planning on keeping this car it could come in mighty handy , have a bit of fun and do it yourself :D

Derek..

Now there's a thought Derek, that's very interesting, it would cost more but will give it a different look and maybe a longer life if it was leather? The foam and thin cloth doesn't have my confidence anymore, so may experiment with a material such as leather. And if that doesn't work, can always go back to foam and cloth?

Ha, mine just fell away too with the clips removed, as they were all that was holding it up!

Yep, but those are for his cars so I'm just going to get a new cover on an existing board.

Nope, Moroccan Red, a colour which I originally hated a few years ago but really like now.

I used to feel like that about BL Inca yellow.
