Time for an update; its been a busy time for this car.....
Some know, some don't, I have been extremely lucky and will be taking part in the Jaguar Festival in Windsor this year and the Majestic has been selected to be one of the very few cars from the history of Jaguar to parade in the show through the grounds of Windsor Castle.
So before all this came to light, I put my car in to get two small rust bubbles fixed, to a once decent body shop. Note I say the word "once". The car was left there for 3 months and without going in to details, I took it back and on very bad terms with the owner. I was referred to another paint shop a couple of weeks ago, and due to the now tight time constraints, I gave the car over and hoped for the best. This was the bubbles. One on the back pillar and the other on the bottom of the driver side rear door;
So I picked it up yesterday and I'm happy with the results;
So on the way home I stopped to pick up something else I have been wanting for the car, the flag mast. Its taken me ages to get one which would be similar to the one that the car wore during its life with Leicester Council, but I got it. The issue is, the screw threading is not right, but the man I got it from has given me the details for a business about 20 minutes away from me who will be able to modify the threading so that it will screw in to the bonnet holder correctly;
The weather up here this weekend has been great (a shock since it was snowing heavily on Tuesday), so I managed to break out the new Poorboys polish I recently bought and worked on the car all afternoon, and it turned out well;
Tomorrow its Service and MOT time at Pentland Jag, I am sure that will cost me dear, but you know what, I don't care!
