You are certainly setting the standard now - how are we going to match that at Dunkeld???

And you are a 'good lad' for looking after yer ol' Nan - these things have to be done.........I miss mine :cry: even though she passed on over 20 years ago.

Cheers CT, it was the previous owners (Rob Jenner and Leicester Council) that deserve all the credit, I'm just going to try and keep up the good work. And don't sell yourself short, I've been watching carefully the progress of your Daimler since before you bought it and you have transformed that car, yours is certainly one to watch at Dunkeld!

Yep, that seems to be the consensus, I would get that rectified this week but I have just been made redundant and am due to finish work next week so the Jags are going in to the garage until I can start spending money on them again. Until another job comes along, all money is going to my old friend the mortgage!

Easy to replace..... just grow some 10 inch long fingers in a lab, dislocate your elbow and wrist and it is easy peasy :lol:

Ah crap!!!!!! That's an arse Paul. I feel for you mate - been there and got the tee shirt. Fingers crossed that something comes along soon - although until this damn referendum is out of the way, most companies I deal with are treading water to see what happens.

Best of luck mate - honestly.

I've been here before too when the economy collapsed, but things always work out, life goes on, I saw it coming so was able to prepare a bit, at least I get to enjoy some of this good weather and will let me devote more time to my mums little property empire so will keep busy with that. ;)

The sooner this Euro campaign is over the better. It's almost as bad as the Scotland independence vote, the sooner a decision is made the sooner we can all get on with things.

Joking apart I actually replaced mine with the car on the drive and my feet on the ground. I know there are special spanners for removing these sensors but I was lucky and just cut a ring spanner in half :o I then slid the disconnected wiring in through the ring end of the spanner and allowed it to slide down the wiring and on to the sensor, problem is you are doing this all by feel as you cannot see in there. The sensor was actually loose so admittedly is was not difficult to undo and remove however I fitted the new one and tightened it up and it has been fine ever since. I know you will not be tempted Paul but others should not buy a universal fit one as the wiring has to be altered and a bad joint can affect the readings, so back to square one. :(

Time for an update; its been a busy time for this car.....

Some know, some don't, I have been extremely lucky and will be taking part in the Jaguar Festival in Windsor this year and the Majestic has been selected to be one of the very few cars from the history of Jaguar to parade in the show through the grounds of Windsor Castle.

So before all this came to light, I put my car in to get two small rust bubbles fixed, to a once decent body shop. Note I say the word "once". The car was left there for 3 months and without going in to details, I took it back and on very bad terms with the owner. I was referred to another paint shop a couple of weeks ago, and due to the now tight time constraints, I gave the car over and hoped for the best. This was the bubbles. One on the back pillar and the other on the bottom of the driver side rear door;

So I picked it up yesterday and I'm happy with the results;

So on the way home I stopped to pick up something else I have been wanting for the car, the flag mast. Its taken me ages to get one which would be similar to the one that the car wore during its life with Leicester Council, but I got it. The issue is, the screw threading is not right, but the man I got it from has given me the details for a business about 20 minutes away from me who will be able to modify the threading so that it will screw in to the bonnet holder correctly;

The weather up here this weekend has been great (a shock since it was snowing heavily on Tuesday), so I managed to break out the new Poorboys polish I recently bought and worked on the car all afternoon, and it turned out well;

Tomorrow its Service and MOT time at Pentland Jag, I am sure that will cost me dear, but you know what, I don't care! ;)

Excellent job on the body repair. Got there in the end. It takes a good while to find garages/ body shops that can be trusted to get the job done properly.

You must be excited about the Windsor doo. You will be invited for Afternoon Tea with the Queen afterwards surely!
