Those brackets were available until recently.
I think it’s worth emailing JCP. They would likely make them again with enough demand.

X300 or X308 wiper arm? The 308 versions have the built in washer jet hose.
The 300 versions are ideal. Most of my lot have them fitted. Definitely much neater.

Good call - I'll give JCP a nudge.
It was an X300 wiper arm, I struggle with model numbers - long live cars with names ;)

Once I get a headlamp washer cover the exterior will be back to looking loved again.

Ok, I thought it must be.
I happen to know the jet caps are back in stock. ;)

Took the Daimler our for the weekend.
Just to keep it moving and fresh over the winter.
A pleasure as always to just waft around.
I still haven't got around to getting the AC bits fitted, or that pesky headlamp washer cover.
But I did replace the rear foglamp as I'd pulled the wires out of the original when changing the bumper chrome. Finding the light in my garage was harder than changing the lamp :D
So no more warning lights on the dash - woo hoo.

I also got the front wheels rebalanced. They were way out according to the tyre place, and it does drive a lot better now. £15 well spent.

But now it highlights the wear in the steering rack, that the previous MOT picked up.
Offside Play in steering rack inner joint(s) under load

Inner joints don't seem to be available as genuine parts - that I can find.

What options have I got ?

Thanks
Andy

Progress follows by more items added to the list. A familiar story.

Here’s the best fix currently available for the standard 40 rack mounting rubber failure.

I'm not sure the mounts on my rack have failed, the MOT said inner joints.

The only inner-joints I can find seem to be made by Frontline but as Borg and Beck also re-badge them, so they can't be that bad.

Am not sure what is meant by “inner joints”? Do you mean something inside the rack? If that’s the case, then I would imagine you are looking at a full rack rebuild.
The reason I mentioned the mounting bushes, as it’s such a common reason to have movement on the rack.

I imagine "inner joints" to mean those "inside" the rack itself, under the bellows / gaiters and "bed mates" (pardon the phrase) with the track rod ends. Although strictly speaking the track rod ends are not part of the rack, because, as we know, they attach separately as an individual item(s). As an aside, on some racks once the bellows / gaiters have been completely removed it it sometimes possible to tighten (or replace) the cups that form the outer housing of the inner joints, with a big enough spanner ....................... ;)

Well for my sins, the Daimler has been in storage since January.
I got distracted by another, project an old Toyota Land Cruiser
http://forum.retro-rides.org/thread/208932/1979-toyota-landcruiser-rusty-mcrustface

But it was good to get back into the swing of things with the Daimler, and I managed to tick off a few jobs that have been on the list for a while.
I've replaced both water thermostats - can't say that was a nice job - complicated by the fact I had a wrong gasket, so I had to clean/re-use/re-seal one of the old ones.
Yes of course it leaked the first couple of attempts
Still it is done now.
The old stats were genuine Jaguar, and the water was nice'n'clean. TBH the rad looks quite new, so I think somebody had overhauled the cooling system prior to my ownership.
Still with a flush of coolant - it is good to know it really has been done.

But the big one is the AC
I fitted the cheap new compressor I got from eBay
Image
That was an easy job

I also fitted the expensive condenser I had shipped in from the Netherlands.
That was straightforward, but getting it to sit properly on the rubbers was a little awkward.

Lastly was a new receiver/dryer

The mobile AC man came today, and after a bit of faff managed to seal the system, and got it topped up with gas.

I've got working AC - whoo hoo huge milestone.

Thanks for looking.
