Well I've finally got the car home!
It's been a long time coming - but there has been a lot of work to do. And still plenty to go!
I spent day one just going through it, a preliminary jobs and drawing up the list of things to do.
First thing done though was the ignition system!
The old rotor and dizzy looked rather grotty! Plus there was no gasket between the dizzy cap and the rest of the distributor. There is now!
So a nice new rotor and a good used dizzy courtesy of BrakeBuster have gone in.
There's a nice pile of paperwork and history with the car.
Including a free service voucher! I wonder what my nearest Jag centre would say if I walked in with that!
Also found these rolling around in the boot, which are nice originals to have!
Lots to do anyway. Plenty of rusty scabs and the suspension is still not right! Too high at the rear and too low at the front.
I guess if the front springs are toast - it could raise the rear? Maybe?
I have a set of used springs that came with my GAZ adjustable dampers - might get them in and see what happens. The existing springs are likely original.
