Thanks for this advice. I did run quite a few coats of rust converter along the join in the windscreen plenum area.. pretty sure any water now will run along and out the hole in the plastic wiper housing. Thanks

Yep, that's the typical 'time for a refill' signal...

Do you have more detail?
Is it the steering wheel that vibrates, does it come from underneath the car, ....?

I'm not 100 percent sure but.. actually, it seems the steering wheel vibrates a little and it feels like it's coming from under the car.. usually the rev counter is about 1000rpm.

This page here:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/gene ... es-145996/
has Jaguar VIN lookup tables.. here is the one for xj40 1993-94
Image
Seems prefix 5 is the model range:
F = xj6
H = Sovereign, xj12
K = VdP, Daimler 6, Daimler 66
My 5th prefix is F so is an xj6 according to this. I guess a sport would have an F 5th prefix too though lol. IDK

I took my old 40 to a local 'reputable garage' years ago for an oil change as didn't want to get dirty at the time so took the oil and filter there for them to do it. Had the same thing with AC low and hissing and these garage muggles tried to convince me after changing oil that 'the noise is from brakes and the car is dangerous to drive...' :lol:
