Full day XJ 50th anniversary celebration
I am contacting you with regard to a special XJ50 event to be held at JLR Classic Works on Saturday 1st September.
The JEC will have a presence at the event (we hope the Raffle Car will be there too) although the event is open to all Jaguar owners, not just those with XJs. However, XJs will receive privileged parking with 165 spaces available directly in front of the main building. In addition there will be around 300 additional parking spaces for other Jaguars (or XJ overspill!).
As the organiser of our monthly Jaguar Breakfast Meets at the British Motor Museum, JLR have asked me to administer bookings for the event. Places do need to be reserved in advance in order to monitor attendance and assist with catering requirements. These can be done individually or as a forum group.

JLR’s s commitment to the future of Classic Jaguar is epitomised by this purpose-built Classic facility - the largest of its kind in the world. The state-of-the-art facility consolidates all Classic operations under one roof, comprising 54 individual workshop bays, a dedicated engine shop and space for 480 vehicles. In addition to servicing and restoration of customer cars, history is being brought back to life by the meticulous rebuilding of limited edition classic Jaguars including the Series 1 E-type, and creating New Originals including the iconic Lightweight E-type, legendary XKSS and D-type. A visit to Classic works is a truly extraordinary experience!JLR Classic works, Prologis Park, Oxford Road, Ryton, Coventry, CV8 3EA
Catering will be available and the showroom, workshops and astounding vehicle collection will be open to view. Due to the large numbers attending a guided tour is not possible, but staff and technicians will be on hand to discuss all aspects of the classic operations taking place at this impressive facility.
The event is free of charge (except catering).
The event is a special celebration of fifty years of the XJ model, with guest speakers and dedicated displays provided courtesy of JLR. These will run through the morning and afternoon so you can choose when you prefer to visit (or stay all day!). All Jaguars are welcome but XJs will receive privileged parking. A timeline display of individual XJ models will be arranged.
We will require your name and numbers attending (to assist with catering). Please let us know if you will be arriving by XJ, please state the model, year and registration number as you may be invited to join the timeline display!
