XJ50 at Brands Hatch

Postby richard1983 » Thu Apr 12, 2018 1:00 pm

Don't know if this has already been discussed, but Keith Parrington is organising another XJ meeting this year at Brands Hatch. This year to celebrate the XJ 50th anniversary.

It's on Sunday 15th July and coinciding with the weekends Classic Car Championships racing.

He's got parking/display area at the start/finish line and the potential for a parade lap during lunch - if anyone's ever fancied taking their car round the Indy circuit.

JEC discount applies for entry.

I'll hopefully make this - depending on work!
1993 4.0 Sovereign, Flamenco Red.
1994 6.0 Daimler Double Six, Silver Frost.
2012 Mercedes E350, Obsidian Black.

I'm very interested but not sure how to book. Looking at the brands hatch web site you can book a ticket (£12) for the CSCC Sunday event but there is no reference to the XJ50 event nor on XJ Restorations web site.

There is no reference on the web sites, but if you go to the XJ Restorations Facebook site (account not required) you can see it in the events section.
I put a link in my first post which should take you to the event site, but this is the general XJ Restorations Facebook page: -

https://m.facebook.com/JaguarRestoration/

I don't think Keith keeps his website updated anymore, he just puts everything on Facebook now.
I'll PM you the discount code for the Brands Hatch site if you want to go.

Should be a good event. I believe there are 36 XJs going at the moment, and that's sure to go up. It'd be nice to have the XJ40 well represented too!

The racing is a bonus really, again should be good from the finishing strait with all the Jags.

I can see the event on XJrestorations public facebook page but any additional actions are blocked unless I have a facebook account, which I dont want. The tickets link just takes you to the brands hatch web site.

Ho hum, never mind. I may just email Keith directly.

One of the the fantastic "XJ50" videos celebrating the 50th anniversary, but the XJR in 40 guise again forgotten as the arrival of the series in favour of the in house X300 supercharged?

ChrisW mentioned this meet again today.
But I just checked and realised I can’t make it now, as other plans are already made
Am sure it will be a good one.

This was a great day out! I got to put faces to forum names, watch classic cars racing, and best of all, drive my 40 round Brands Hatch and even have a play!!

We were nearer the back so could leave a space and (ahem) ‘test’ sport mode and kick Down!

A great (if very hot) day out.
