Sorry Naki, we didn't get any pics at the meet as it was a busy place and we couldn't all park together.
Henry (or showman89), and his wife drove up from Margate and met me at the services on the M11 at Stansted. From there we convoyed up to Peterborough, getting a few looks on the way.
On the way home we went into another Jaguar meet in North Weald Airfield. This one was the JDC. As we got there around 3 there was only a couple of people still there. Sam with his Series 1 unrestored XJ was happy to give us a tour and chat about our individual Jag based adventures over a cuppa at the Squadron cafe. A WW2 themed cafe for the pilots.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable day, made so by good company, nice cars and perfect weather. Even if my AC made me a bit chilly! One of the high spots was driving g along the A414, shades on to stop the glare of the setting sun, windows halfway down and Ian Dury playing on Sounds of the 70s on BBC R2. Just sublime.
I agree, little meets like this help to keep the wider group going. Even if there are only a few cars it is still a social meet which means that we're talking, getting our cars out and about and enjoying them.
The big meets are great, but these little ones definitely help to keep the whole thing going.
In my, humble, unimportant opinion.
