The Official XJ40.com 2019 Meet Thread!!!!

Postby Dazstap » Sat Feb 23, 2019 4:54 pm

Hello all,

Okay, its official, the 2019 XJ40.com annual meet is going to be on 3rd August at the British Motor Museum. The Jaguar Breakfast Club hold their monthly meet there on the first Saturday of each month. After speaking with the organisers they are happy to set aside XJ40 only parking for us.

This will also give our forum some extra publicity as the Jaguar Breakfast Club are a very active organisation who promote their regular meets on Facebook and social media.

For those that don't know, or are not familiar with it, the British Motor Museum is also home to the Jaguar Heritage Collection, one of each Jaguar made. There are also various prototypes and racing cars there. These are all in a separate building from the main museum.

Nearby there is also the Jaguar Classic Works as well as many places to hole up for the night. I shall look up Teop Advisor etc. for suggestions, but if anyone has any, please say.

On site there is a cafe, decent toilets and refreshments. It's also a great venue to bring the family and kids too as there is plenty to do.

Does that sound like a plan?

If so, then put your name down!

Carlmt + 1 with Daimler 8-)

Will most likely book for the hotel for Friday and Saturday nights to allow for some serious eating and ale sampling.

It has to be done!!

Just a typical wandering off from me, i will be at the museum 15th July on my way back north. Can anyone recommend a hotel for 2 with a very needy yet well trained Springer spaniel? Dare say we will be going in the trusty renault, the last time we went away in the jag I was around 820 on fuel and herself was not happy!!

Recommendations for other stuff for the wife to do while I'm in the museum gratefully received

We take our little dog sometimes to hotels. The best way is to search using a site like Trivago as they allow you too filter down by Pet friendly. Do double check the hotel first before booking too. Just in case, and they may only have limited dog friendly rooms. Plus what the fee is for Mutly.
