Should of stayed for dinner - looks fantastic there!
Someone from the Isle of 'Fannit would of really put a lid on the melting pot of international diversity.

It was a fantastic couple of days. Brilliant cars and top company. I also regret not staying for the Saturday night dinner, definitely won’t make that mistake next time! Talking of international, Suffolk/Norfolk is well known to be a different world

Nice to meet up with friends old and new , pretty good showing of our xj40's on the day , i counted at least 16 cars and we filled our allotted area on the grass outside the museum entrance , poor old Mark from Oxford had to park up alone in the car park with his very smart 3.2 which he has done extensive improvements to ,

I've tried to post several pictures with appropriate text but i just can't get the hang of this new way of doing things so i'm not even sure what you'll get but is was a good meet up and staying over at the grange made it all the more enjoyable ,

Nice pics, Derek, thanks for sharing!

I’ll be in my way home later this evening and will share a selection of my pics tomorrow.

A wonderful weekend out: it was great meeting XJ40 owners from all over the country and beyond, both Saturday venues are high on my ‘need to visit again’ list... ;)

I just learned the hard way that picture embedding has become close to unusable on the forum...
It only supports very low resolutions, as the error message illustrates.

Since I use the same online pictures on different web sites, I use a single resource for my pictures: flickr.
The changes for embedded pics mean I'll have to break tradition and provide you with links to pictures below, rather than show you embedded pictures in this post... :(

Can't agree more!

It was a loooooooooong weekend for me, arriving at Birmingham airport at 7:30 in the morning.
I took my time to pick up my rental, have breakfast and then drove over to the Midland Air Museum for a bit of Vulcan tyre kicking.

https://flic.kr/p/2gQkpsy

Next stop was Coventry's Transport Museum, another venue I wanted to visit last year but didn't have the time for.

https://flic.kr/p/2gQkmnL

Derek's car and this nice DB7 were the hotel car park welcoming committee...

https://flic.kr/p/2gQjtiq

Those alloys are a straight fit on an XJ-S, so I was rather tempted to source a tool box and some bricks...

Friday evening quite a few of us met in the hotel, and thanks to Darren we had a BIG table for dinner.
Next morning we left for Gaydon, 8:45 from the hotel car park to be in front of the museum at 9:15 sharp!

https://flic.kr/p/2gQkjQN

A surprise visit: not long after the majority of '40s had parked Leo-from-Denmark joined us in his XJ-S!

https://flic.kr/p/2gQkjQ2

View from the museum entrance: not bad, methinks...

https://flic.kr/p/2gQjsRP

The inevitable happened: no meet is complete without a parts exchange!
For those interested: a boot lid DOES fit on an XJ40 rear seat... :o

https://flic.kr/p/2gQkjzh

One of the more well-known XJ40s in the UK scene: 'Rusty' and proud owner Kevin

https://flic.kr/p/2gQkjpT

I'll spare you all the Gaydon museum pictures, except for this one, a bit of elite automotive alphabet soup...
They had a C, D and E Type in the museum workshop

https://flic.kr/p/2gQkj1G

Our next stop for the day was Caffeine and Machine, a brief and pleasant drive from the museum.
Their love for everything petrolicious goes as far as their door handles!

https://flic.kr/p/2gQkiyu

The XJ40s joined a very eclectic group of other cars and bikes...

https://flic.kr/p/2gQjrAh

https://flic.kr/p/2gQkidz

https://flic.kr/p/2gQjr9f

Last but not least: dinner at the Saxon Mill.
We visited twice(!) last year; our group of nine was not disappointed this year. The beginning of a tradition? ;)

Hi All

A few extremely amateur snaps from me, too!

I'll upload a couple of videos to my Instagram also, which you can find here: https://www.instagram.com/carsofallscalesinwales/?hl=en

Great to see some familiar faces again, and to meet some new ones.

Cheers!

Great photos.
I love cars, love meetings, but for me, I actually enjoyed the social part the most. Great weekend and fantastic company - pleasure to see some old faces and new friends.
