Seems to be special or rare, a Daimler with tweed-interior..?

Now that's a nice looking car!
Regards, Carl

That’s a triple wow! Clearly someone ticked every option box possible when ordering this one!
A rare price to match too!
Mineral green, pale stone and green would its an exact to one of my previous cars (minus the Maj and V12).

That last Daimler is a stunner, the green wood is fantastic. Easy to find a car with wood that has suffered moisture damage resulting in fading and peeling. I think solid original wood like that is a good indicator of a dry interior more than likely helped by a solid bulkhead and floor pans. Really a full option car, and deserving of its long preservation hopefully for years to come.

Good find, Simon!
It's spectacular, both in specs and in trim choice...
I've seen Naki's ex-car in the flesh and love that interior/exterior colour combination.

But...
A EUR 40K restoration?
Engine bay detailing?
Only DD6 Majestic Insignia? What about Steinar's car in Norway? or this ex-German car in Finland? http://www.levainen.fi/albumi/kuvagalleria/1565811
Methinks their description is on the optimistic side of things?

Evidence: detail of Steinar's car during the Dunkeld festivities:

It looks, really, really good, can't deny that.
But...
(and I should kick myself for writing this, indirectly downplaying the value of my far more modest straight six Insignia ;) )

first 17 years(!) of history basically unknown
several small interior blemishes (upholstery touch-up, damaged speaker grilles)
    non-original exhaust system
    non-original carpets
    150K miles on the clock
no pics of chassis, wheel wells, bulkhead, suspension, brakes, ...

If the respray is as good as they describe I'd say 1/3 of their asking price would be good money for these specs in LHD. :ugeek:

At that price one would expect it to be absolutely perfect in every detail and this is far from it, silly price
1997, 4.0 LWB X300 - Unlucky car but still a daily driver.
1988, 3.6S XJS - Never ending restoration project.
1994, 3.2S X300 - Accident damaged, October 2015. Gone!
1994, 3.2S XJ40 - Long gone.

The problem is, there’s so many silly prices out there, it’s starting to become “normal”?
I guess this is the process in motion of how values go up?
Anyone remember when any 40 over £2000 was considered “expensive”. I do!
Now £2000 is one with no MOT needing work

Anyhow. Fabulous car. I would buy it in a heart beat, if I had more money than sense, and didn’t have a barn full of 40s already. :?

......it looks to have lost the original Silk white boot carpets too (replaced with standard parts). We can assume they were discoloured/ dirty/ wet/ damaged etc, and have been discarded (same reason the main cabin carpet change?).

I am rather sceptical regarding stretching a XJ40 limousine – but this example looks quite nice:

And this one seems to be even more “special”: you have to check all the pictures in order to identify this conversion as XJ40 :D
