It’s with great disappointment that I have to sell my XJ40 a 1994 4.0 litre S at present it’s under light restoration and will be sold as an unfinished project and will need trailering away.
Let me explain..............the car is in my mates parents driveway.....there’s been a family fallout and they want my car off the driveway, I am not in the best of health and have nowhere to keep the car.
What’s done............from the front to back......new headlights new bottom radiator frame and rubber bushes front bumper stripped new bolts rust cured, engine Vee blocks new suspension bushes wheel bearings and Sachs shocks, braided hoses front wings which have been thoroughly sealed with under seal as the inner wings Engine is without oil and all valve clearance checked and were spot on compression test was spot on. Gearbox is again without oil and has a new filter and seal fitted, never got around to renewing bushes on the rear suspension but I have the following for the rear end, all suspension bushes, new Sachs shocks braided hoses, refurbished calipers and new discs and handbrake brake shoes cannot remember if I got new pads to go in,
Body work..........is absolutely solid and was patched in the usual places both front foot wells and n/s wheel arch, the repairs were plated up after bad metal ground out, zinc primered fibre glass resin to seal the welds then the whole underside was schutz sprayed ....... it’s totally bulletproof the body work.
New parts........both front door seals front footwell carpets, rear axle nuts, rear discs, and rear wheel bearings, rear shocks, suspension bushes, reconditioned rear calipers.
Used parts.......rear n/s seat belt, rear light assemblies,
Wheels decent but I was gonna powder coat
Inside.......is in fairly good condition headlining has sagged and I have been using dehumidifiers to keep the damp out.
So that’s as much as I can remember.
