I think there’s another V12 owner in Hamburg? It’s worth getting in contact. You never know when someone may be thinking of selling but not advertising it yet?

To answer the questions/remarks:

1) Number of cars in scope: Currently 4, however two of them are XJ12 SIII. I prefer the XJ81 though. There are very few LHD cars on the market in Germany in working order that are under 10K€.
2) The Estonian Jag looks like a lot of work and money that has to go into. I am not looking for a project where I can spend anothe 4-5 K€ +
3) The coolant sensor shows "low fluid level" even when full on the advertised car. According to the seller the car is thermally sound and running like it should. I would definately take it on the Autobahn and test it thorougly.
4) Whats the nick of Florian so that I can get in touch?
5) Cars not advertised are an interresting option. I gather that would go via Florian?Or did I misread Naki?
6) Number of XJ81 seen: Currently 2, both where rubbish with knackered suspension or running on 6 cylinders.

I had a long call with the seller and he says that he has the car since 6 years and is selling out of his private collection. The car had regular serives with a free garage, which can mean all or nothing. The SLS has been replaced by conventional springs. AC is not working, hoewever the fan on all speeds. All electrics seem to be sound apart from the coolant sensor. He wants to send me pics and a video.
Lets wait and see.
I will keep posting.

That seller sounds pretty honest, fingers crossed!

Back to your comments & questions:
3) is a known Gremlin, could well be the sensor indeed. Nothing beats a healthy dose of Autobahn to test that out! ;)
4) chefspakken
5) I assume (do correct me if need be, Naki!) that Naki referred to the chap in the immaculate black-on-black XJ81 who joined Florian's meet in '14. Naki and myself looked really, really hard to find flaws, but couldn't...

I know the car pretty well, have seen it on a ramp a few 1000km ago, before Florian bought it.

The clearcoat issue is a classical problem, for some reason colours like Jade Green and some of the Blue tints are affected most.

It's a solid car, the 90K kms most likely correct, but as Florian mentioned it needs some stuff done...

There you go. I thought I heard Florian whisper about maybe selling. €3000 is well below the asking price elsewhere?
So what work does it need? Or shall we guess?

Should I translate everything?

One front damper is leaking, the oil cooler is leaking, the steering oil filter as well and the rh lower rear bushes must be renewed
This is important for TÜV (mot)

And the paint .... and it's absolutely not my favorite colour

And I have absolutely no time for her :-(
