Champion work! Yes I had wondered about those and the price fluctuations that seem to be around. All that could be gleaned from that conversation was that this is that part that supersedes the jag number, so it's a bit of a risk but hopefully one worth taking. No further help regarding how the lower spring plate would fit onto them either, I think I can see the lions but again is it in the right place I wonder. Wonder if a certain Naki would know....

Walker wrote:Evening all,

Long time! Life has recently gotten quite hectic with buying another house and trying to sell this one. I've got the whole back end out from under my 93 3.2s and now the pressure us on to get it back together to be trailered to it's new home.

I've managed to find most of the bushes to rebuild it, I'm just looking for the correct bush for the bottom end of the shock. I've got what I am told are CCC6782 bought rather on a whim not knowing I would ever actually get round to using them. The ones I have here seem like they are for a thinner diameter bolt, making the ones on my car look like they have a bigger bolt in them maybe being stiffer suspension setup?

Can anyone confirm the part is even actually any different from the standard bush 6782, has anybody replaced one? I've got a full update to do on the car just when I get a moment ;)

Typical long post from me, any help much appreciated!

Indeed theres two different versions for to VIN 696459, and after VIN 696459.
Since the new JCP site has been introduced the "unillustrated parts" list seems to be relabelled as "O" instead. I can't seem, to see the part number for them anymore.
Jaguar call this bush a "Spherical Joint". As far as i know the CAC9443/ to VIN 696459 version is NLA. I did even email JCP to ask them and they said they were not planning to reintroduce the part.
Its odd though considering there are new shocks with these parts fitted, but no one sells them on their own?

Basically, if your spherical joints are in bad shape, your only option is to buy complete new shocks. Unless someone else knows of a source of these?
I did hear a guy in Australia managed to find them somehow through a local parts store, but he did not give any further details. And that was on FB, so that post is not searchable, so it’s gone in the wind....

Cheers for all the help guys, Naki that has sort of of sealed the deal on the shocks Dom dug up. I've ordered the pair and hopefully will be able to compare them when they arrive next week. Would be of benefit to me and would hopefully find out for anybody else in the future wishing to changed their shocks.

Indeed. It’s not a bad idea to have new shocks anyhow. You should see improved handling on that basis alone.

Even when Jag did sell these, they were about £30 each anyhow. So put a bit more towards it and you have all new shocks.

I found somewhere that claim to stock the 40 Spherical joints.
CAC9443

https://www.welshent.com/Jaguar-Joint-S ... 00404.aspx

Will they actually exist ifs some are ordered though?
I know this place is in Canada and Larry orders from them. How reliable is their stock count?
