It’s also possible those wings are old stock, and they managed to get hold of some from a closed down dealership? Hard to say? But the rare I guess implies they maybe don’t have many of them?

Its a silly price, whatever reason anyone can have to buy one of these. I could probably buy a perfect wing with the rest of the car attached to it for the price of it.

Some people will pay it though. Not everyone wants to buy a full car to obtain a wing for their restoration. A full car is then another liability.

For X300 wings, at least there’s still the option to buy one off a X308 too, which widens the options. Plus it’s “only £400” new for those.

Got a perfect pair for mine after last year accident for £300. I guess £400 would be acceptable for some people or insurance repairs for highly valued cars, especially considering how they deal with these :) My latest £450 claim must have cost ~£4000...

I have just watched 2 NOS metal front wings finish on eBay without a bid. Starting price was £175 with £20 delivery and whilst they were for different model years ( different side repeater apertures ) I honestly would have thought that someone out there would have snapped one up, obviously a new metal front wing for less than £200 delivered to your door is too much for the market at this time. Personally I thought they were cheap but what do I know :?

Secondly is there an update available on the fibre glass wings ???

Hi Don

That does seem cheap - but, unfortunately, I am out of the market for that kind of spend at the moment as funds are earmarked.
I would have taken them if possible........

As for the F/G wings - I was only chatting to the chap who would make them just last week. He was in the middle of fabricating a new Triumph Spitfire hardtop at the time and we got talking about them. He did say, however, that the masters need not be absolutely perfect as he would rectify any blemishes before moulding. Obviously, fully rotten examples wouldnt be suitable!!!!

Rest assured, this isnt abandoned.........just parked up for a while. I will most likely get on to this project this winter - Flo and I are just starting the long haul to buying our house in France and it is going to take until November to go through the whole process.........

These are the ones that I mentioned earlier, they did not sell, he relisted them and reduced the price to £165 then £155. Don’t forget they are for different model year cars.

well, they need fitting , fettling and painting in any case, so a small modification for side repeaters isn't really an issue to be honest , imho

and like you , I feel they are a good price for what they are, but does reflect what people are willing to spend, or not spend on their cars , not judging in any way shape or form , we all have a budget for running our cars.

I am also tempted, if they were a matched 94 pair then yes I may go for them. And yes I agree we all have varying levels of budget according to our wife’s purse strings
I actually have a very good set of 94 wings ready to go on when time not budget allows ;)
