Insurance for the Double Six, the S, the Series 3 and the X-Type - £248.00 fully comp and a max mileage of 5,000 miles! I am very happy with that. Got it through Footman James. Tried Peter James but they wouldn't do it because I'm 29 and they are strict on only taking people 30 and over, so maybe next year.

Good work. Great value isn't it. Unfortunately it means one of the usual barriers to adding to the collection drops away - almost zero additional insurance cost!

Oh please don't even plant that seed Chris! Last year at this time I had 1, and vowed publically on this forum that there would never EVER be a second. Now I have 4! I spent all last weekend looking at houses, and criteria number 1 for each house was "CAN I GET ALL THE CARS IN THE DRIVE"!!!!! It's not right, really, it's just not right!

I would have VERY serious difficulty in justifying another car, let alone another XJ40 - probably with the absolute exception of a very tidy 420G (I know SWMBO would grant me that).

What with the Daimler, a 30' motorhome, a MKI Twingo and the A4 plus 4 motorcycles.....

It aint gonna happen!

CT, I said that, really, I did, and that bloody Naki said it wouldn't last and I would have "the bug" :? and in the space of 14 very short months I have ended up buying an XJ81 (granted I still have yet to take delivery of it despite buying it nearly 12 months ago.....don't ask), a Series 3 V12 Sovereign and an X-type, as well as having the new Focus as my every day car and my Motor Bike for summer commuting. Just wait, just you wait sir......

Well done. That's a great result.
Forum recommendations do the business yet again.
And more fool the insurers who cannot even come close to that/ don't offer classic multi car.
Flux and Lancaster were not even in the ball park for me either.

Lancaster really annoyed me with their "we are not renewing you" letter. Fine then Lancaster, away and wipe your backside with it then. They did me a favour! Was shocked to get the little X-Type covered. I had a feeling they would say it's too new, as really it is, an 02 is hardly a classic, and then when they said they would insure it I then thought, yeah, and you'll financially crucify me for the privilege. I was wrong. And the FJ staff were so helpful. Not one grumble from me at all.
