Not so recomended suppliers ..

Postby DevonshireCad » Thu Nov 23, 2017 7:09 pm

Strange question, and admin please delete if not allowed. Where we all have our chosen suppliers, is there a suitable place to share information with the community concerning those suppliers who we would not suggest? I appreciate this could be a can of worms, but .. just interested!

Other forums I have seen merely allow you to state:

"I have yet to have a positive experience with **** company".

...as there are two sides to every story of course.

On the other hand, there is a saying:

"The customer is always right"

Good question. I don’t think there’s any dedicated space for this. But seen as everyone loves a moan, then I would suggest the General Chat page as maybe the most appropriate.
Though if it’s about the “New Wings”, then there’s an existing thread for this.

I think that as this is an open forum, we might want to be a bit careful with this. Yes we need to know who the good, bad and downright ugly suppliers are, and those who provide good or bad service. But we need to pay heed to the possibility of laying ourselves open to being accused of libel, both individually and as a group for encouraging it. It might be a good idea to look into those ramifications before launching into a tirade about something.
Only a cautionary point.

Suggestion from other forums I use: post a 'what is your experience with supplier XYZ?' message here, and ask members to respond through PM.

Another related angle is sharing negative experiences with specific parts, rather than with specific suppliers.
Aftermarket suspension bushes (FAR, FAR worse than OEM) are a good example, imho.

Interesting points from all, and no Naki not about the wings, but a provider of services shall we say. I will think some more on this, as there are most definitely always two sides to a story.

Hi All

As it would be nice to have a Not so Recommended Suppliers List I fear that in this day and age it would leave us open to legal action from said suppliers.

It has happened to other forums so we will just keep the Recommended Suppliers list.
