If you are a very neat/handy person, you could try adhering mylar/spaceblanket material to the surface. In fact any highly reflective material would work ...trick would be fitting it without creases ...if you find a self-adhesive flexible chrome material and want to re-position it during fitting, a liberal application of soapy water on the surface will help - when you have the exact fit, squeegee the soapy water out and press firmly.
"Chrome" paint will not really look like chrome, more like gray with a few aluminum sparkles ..no good for headlights
