I thought its not possible to fit these in a 40? I must say that I cant remember how good/bad the 40 lights are now but the x300 lights are in my opinion completely inadequate and plain dangerous for night driving, especially after 20 years and the x308 are as good as any modern car lights or even better. Very happy with my conversion.
Would be great if you could confirm Naki, how is that suppose to hold with all the tabs, apart from one, dremeled off? If that's holding up ok than I suppose it would be a great upgrade. No problems with BFMs, is there are separate headlight wiring in XJ40 like the X300 have? If there is then it can be easily adapted, its just a 4 or 5 cables that need soldering on each side(bulb to bulb output), that's how I modified my x300 one, just the x300 wiring on BFM side and x308 on the headlight side so I could still go back to x300 lights easily if needed with a new x300 headlight harness.
